The goal of offshore wind power capacity by 2025 will be 5.7GW (Demonstration phase included). In Taichung port, the scope of offshore wind power development (2026-2035) is:
1.Turbine pre-assembly area:
- (1) #5A,#5B heavy wharf and the hinterland of wharf #5A,#5B,#4C(around 61.5ha)
- (2) #36,#37,#38 heavy wharf and the hinterland (around 69ha)
- (3) #107 heavy wharf (alternate) and the hinterland (around 10.7ha、Complete the south reclamation area with 65ha of land by the end of 2027)
2.Localized turbine parts manufacturing area:#106 heavy wharf, the hinterland of wharf #106 and Industrial Zone (II), total area is around 107.3ha.
3.GWO training center:
TIPC invited a number of leading offshore wind power enterprises to development a Joint Venture company to set up a GWO training center in Taichung Port. It was operated by the 4th September of 2019. The existing TIPC's Training Park(TIPA) is able to provide services of classrooms, meals, and accommodations for GWO participants as well as the technicians for wind farm construction and operation. The training categories including advanced wind power training customized training program, GWO BST & Refresh course.
