TAICHUNG PORT VTS

The main tasks of Taichung VTS (Vessel Traffic Service) are port control, ship-to-shore communications and ship traffic services, with 24-hour personnel on duty ; ships in Taichung Port Area must watch on VHF channel in accordance with regulations and communicate with Taichung VTS via VHF radio communication.

VHF channels

• Channel 16 (156.8 MHz) for Distress, Emergency, Safety and Calling.
• Channel l4 (156.7 MHz) for ETA reporting; for message exchange (Ship-Shore, Ship-Pilot).
• Channel 12 (156.6MHz) for harbor craft (tugs, pilot boat) and Pilot on duty.
